Abstract
My degree thesis presents the figure of Mary Magdalene, in all the 24 apocrypha of the New Testament that mention her. What role plays the woman in the apocryphal corpus? Disciple? Apostle? Simple witness of the resurrection? Or... something else?

analysing how has changed her conception throughout the ages, especially lingering over three historical moments: in ancient times (canonical and apocryphal Gospels), the Middle Ages (pope Gregory Magnus and the Legenda Aurea), the modern age (The Holy Blood an the Holy Grail and The Da Vinci Code). Throughout the ages Mary Magdalene changed from the role of disciple of Christ, to that one of repentant prostitute, to that one of hermit in France, to that one of Christ’s wife and his children's mother, to that one of goddess and holy feminine symbol. But, who is really Mary Magdalene?
