The Master in Tourism Management (MTM), run entirely in English, stands out from the wide array of training programmes which Italy offers in this area by virtue of:

a) its International classroom environment which creates an extremely rich and challenging multicultural learning context where students have contact with different values, perceptions, professional and educational backgrounds, thus enabling them to enhance their own personal qualities and to acquire extremely useful skills for the tourism industry;

b) lecturers from the most internationally renowned tourism management research and training centres (Cornell-USA; Purdue-USA; James Cook-Australia; Erasmus-Holland; St Gallen-Switzerland; Cardiff-UK) who stimulate critical comparison of the latest tourism management models;

c) specialist courses held by professionals from the major companies in the sector (Intercontinental Hotels Group; Starwood Hotels & Resorts) who groom students in best management practices;;

d) a network of 400 leader companies in the sector which actively participate in the teaching, projects and internships. MTM offers, to date, the university programme with the widest active participation of experienced entrepreneurs and managers from the tourism sector. This not only generates a relational network for students but also opens up paths for establishing future work contacts.

The programme is structured into 6 modules, it carries 60 University Credits and is characterized by its interdisciplinary approach. The 'Basic Competence Building' and 'General Management' modules ground students in the basic organisational tools for tourism, sustainable tourism, balance-sheet analysis, market research, business English, HR management, management control, finance, marketing, strategic planning, ICT and revenue management. The 'Tourism Professionals' and 'Business Plan' modules give students highly-structured, hands on experience of the world of tourism through meetings with managers and entrepreneurs from over 60 tourism companies. Thanks to the accrued experience of the last editions of the Master, in the coming year a full month will be centered on 'Destination Management', with the assistance of the foremost foreign lecturers in the area, and company and institutional testimonials who have a consolidated experience in the field. Destination management is considered to be of primary importance for tourism development abroad and it is increasingly gaining importance in Italy as well; it offers a competitive edge to the professional training of those who intend to pursue a career in the world of tourism.
After completing both the intensive 7-month study programme and the carefully selected 6-month internship, MTM graduates are fully equipped to take their place in the major tourism firms where they are geared to stimulate innovation and actively contribute to company success.

MTM enrolment numbers are limited and specifically targeted to those postgraduates who wish to grow in a fast developing sector where the increasing need for professionals with managerial skills and specialised qualifications is urgently felt.
Career prospects of Master graduates include the hospitality industry, cruise companies, air companies, trade fair agencies, congress and events organisations, tour operators, travel agency networks, public and private organisations for the promotion and development of territorial tourism products, specialised tourism project consultants.
The MTM programme covers one year of full-time, compulsory attendance; it is organised into 6 modules for a total of 1,200 classroom hours and offers 60 university credits (CFU). Courses are scheduled daily, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5.45pm.
Several company sponsors of the Master offer financial contributions which partially cover enrolment fees. These scholarships are assigned before the Master begins (see website for deadlines). The ranking classification for these is based on curriculum vitae, motivation, command of English and personal aptitude.

Target Audience

The MTM is open to top university graduates with some work experience and an excellent command of English, who want to speed up their career prospects with an eye to international travel companies.
